Biomass is the oldest and the most widely used renewable source of energy in modern world.
In accordance with Regulation of Minister of Economy from 9th December 2004, biomass is constant or liquid substance plant or animal origin, which submit biodegradation, with origin from products, waste and residue from agricultural or forestry production and also industry processing their products although parts of other waste which are biodegradable.

Currently there has been growth of using renewable sources of energy. Main ground of increasing popularity of renewable sources of energy that it is harmless for the natural environment and their inexhaustibility resulting from natural regenerating processes.
